ago, my worst fears about sailing were quickly confirmed and it’s been downhill ever since. Chandler, charter skipper, boatbuilder, yacht broker – I seem to have been involved with boats for longer than I care to admit, and completing a transatlatic race has long been an ambition since reading about the early OSTARs as a schoolboy. Realising that there will never be enough time or more money it seemed simpler just to enter the Jester Challenges and get on with it. Preparation for the Jester Azores Challenge has been intense and comprehensive, with the purchase of a spare corkscrew, conversion of the hanging locker to a wine cellar and a singlehanded circumnavigation of the Cork Sand. |
