Graham Jewitt and Golden Dragon
Graham Jewitt and Golden Dragon
Graham (Boyo) Jewitt 54, married to Helen (Moose) Jewitt (a little younger!)
Sails with Moose out of Scarborough on Macavity Too (Telstar 8m trimaran) during summer and Golden Dragon (Kingfisher 20+) solo during winter.
Started sailing in Royal Navy 1968 (next two, big shove, get on with it!) Unfortunately for bank balance got hooked. Left Navy and had to buy own boat starting with dinghies and building up to the dizzy heights of a Westerly Longbow which we junk rigged. Lately moved back to smaller and more easily handled vessels. I have a similar philosophy to Roger Taylor! Smaller the boat bigger the fun factor.
Cruising grounds are usually the North Sea with a number of Holland visits although the Trimaran is trailable opening up a lot more destinations for a 2 week trip.
I work on a large country estate as a chauffeur/mechanic and have been fortunate to get time off for the Jester.
When we are not sailing, we can usually be found walking on the moors or mountains.
Most looking forward to; Being out on the ocean and completing the challenge.
Most NOT looking forward to; Sailing to the start ( 490 miles against prevailing westerlies!) and being away from Moose.. Oh come on She may read this!
